Bradley was born on June 24th, 1967 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States of America and grew up with a passion for reading, as she saw an example in her parents, who loved the activity. Her favorite subject to read about was horses. Her grandmother was also a great storyteller and influenced her with her childhood memories. Who is Lois Lowry?

Lois Lowry (born Lois Ann Hammersberg) is an American writer of books for children and young adults.

She was born on March, 20th 1937 in Honolulu, part of Hawaii (before it became a state), being part of a family with three children, having a younger brother and an elder sister. Her father worked as a dentist in the army, which gave Lois the occasion to live in turn in Brooklyn, New York, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, in Tokyo, Japan, in Governors Island, New York, attending school courses in different parts of the world. She was 4 when World War II began and 8 when it ended, and during this period her father was deployed as a doctor and far away from the family. Her elder sister died of cancer while being still young, after graduating from college, which marked the subject of the first book written by Lois Lowry, ‟A Summer to Die”, which was published later, when the writer was 40. Chris Colfer was born on May 27 1990, in California, the United States of America. He has been in love with stories since he was a child and his mother read them to him, and when she proposed to him to start writing his own fairytale, because he was always asking too many questions, he took the advice as a challenge. This is how ‟The Land of Stories” appeared, a much-loved series that has its beginnings by the time Chris was 7 years old.
